2008 Honda CR-V Specifications end Review
About Honda CR-V
The Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by the Japanese automaker Honda since 1996. the CR-V was Honda's first in-house designed SUV and was originally intended to be a niche vehicle only. Honda was hesitant to market the vehicle, since many felt the car did not have potential to sell alongside the Honda Passport and to take over the role of Honda's entry-level SUV.

The original CR-V's production lasted from 1996 to 2001. Upon introduction, the model had only one trim level, which would later be known as the LX model trim; it was powered by the 2.0 L I4 B20B producing 126 hp (94 kW) and 133 ft·lb (180 N·m) of torque.

Specifications Honda CR-V
Honda CR-VCR-V is powered by the latest version of Honda's standard K-series 2.4 L 4-cylinder engine, similar variants of which can also be found in the current-generation Honda Accord and Honda Element. In North American markets, this engine's power is rated at 166 hp @ 5,800 rpm and 161 ft·lb @ 4,200 rpm. A 2.2 L i-CTDI diesel is offered in the European and Asian markets. The European market Honda CR-V offers a new R20A 2.0 L engine, based on the Honda R-series i-VTEC SOHC engine found in the Honda Civic, as opposed to the previous CR-V offering the K20A. The manual transmission has been dropped from the US market, leaving the five speed automatic as the sole unit.

Review
We bought our Honda CR-V in January, after driving a van for eight years. I really like the size of the vehicle. I needed something that was big enough to haul things like 50 lb bags of animal feed and a bale of hay once in awhile, and it can. We also needed a vehicle that got good gas mileage. This vehicle has met all our needs for hauling and I gets between 25-31 mpg. per tank. If I set the cruise control and then decel a bit, I get the best mileage. The only thing that I miss about the van is the cushy ride. The Honda CR-V has a stiff ride, no luxury . Air conditioner works well on 100 degree days. The hitch can haul a small trailer, also the rack is good for camping and kayak . Overall very happy. Review By: ec

Review
We bought this vehicle because we wanted something with better gas mileage than our Mercury Mountaineer but that still had the flexibility of an SUV, upright seating, AWD for the snow and was comfortable for my daily commute. After a lot of research and test drives we settled on the Honda CR-V and have been very happy with our choice. We just took the Honda CR-V on a 2200 mile round trip to visit some family members and it performed better than we had hoped. We averaged 29 MPG on the trip. The Honda CR-V was comfortable and fun to drive. It is fine for a couple with one or two children or as a commuter car for someone who likes the more elevated seating of an SUV. Review By: Bill317

Review
Honda CR-V is an excellent car. I am a single mom with 2 young kids in car seats and I love my Honda CR-V . I had a 98 2- door Honda civic and I needed to get a more "Family Friendly" car with 4 doors for my kiddos. I don't regret it one bit. My civic had 205,000 miles and I never had a problem with it so of course I would want to go with another Honda. This is made for moms. I looking at a used Chevy Equinox due to the fact I didn't think I could afford this car but the dealership was great. It is fun to drive and I get excellent gas mileage. Review By:tyetrumpet84

2009 Acura RL Specifications end Review
About Acura RL
Acura RL is the flagship car of Honda's North America luxury brand Acura. The first-generation Acura RL was a similarly rebadged version of the third-generation Honda Legend, and was first introduced into the North American market in 1996 to replace the second-generation Acura Legend.

For the 2009 model year, the Acura RL received an extensive Mid Model Change (MMC), and made its introduction at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6, 2008 as the most extensive Acura MMC ever. The revised sedan was released on July 1, 2008 to dealerships.

Specifications Acura RL
Acura RLThe engine Acura RL is upgraded to 3.7L with 300 hp (220 kW). While on paper, the engine may seem to be the same unit as shared with the Acura MDX, it is actually a variant that introduces for the first time ever on a SOHC Honda V6, an implementation of the Honda VTEC variable valve train technology on the exhaust side for improved horsepower and torque. Heretofore, all previous SOHC Honda V6 with VTEC used the technology on the intake side only. The engine emissions has been improved to meet the stricter EPA TIER 2 – BIN 5 and CARB ULEV-2 standards. Implementation of the SH-AWD was adjusted for earlier intervention and a more rear wheel bias for better handling dynamics.

Review
Acura RL finally got this thing right. I put 13000 miles on my '08 Acura RL and had a love hate relationship with it. The car had terrific build quality and extraordinary features that really spoil a driver. That being said there are significant faults: poor suspension (a weird combination of too harsh and too soft), no adjustable passenger seat, wimpy steering wheel, AWD system with too much front wheel bias. Biggest fault... no EQ (excitement quotient) when driving the Acura RL. Enter 2009 RL. Love or hate the looks that's your decision. I love this car. The suspension is perfect, great Super handling AWD calibration, adjustable passenger seat, a whole bunch of "EQ". Did i say I LOVE THIS CAR ? Review By: Phil Mirenda

Review
acura nails it with 09 Acura RL; looks are great inside and out; have 05 Acura RL, which has been excellent; 09 looks better, drives more in control with road; drove m3; nice car, overpriced, not particularly in control of road; drove audi a6; tired look, overpriced when compared to all options built in to base Acura RL; drove m 35; same old car, also not competitive price-wise if you load up the options to compare it with the Acura RL; gas mpg is strong for awd; very hard to beat without spending at least $10,000 more on competitors. Review
Acura RL is one nice car!! Very quiet with and excellent radio. Controls can be a little confusing until you know where all the controls are. It's best to practice a little before you go on the road and want to change radio channels or map functions. I get a lot of AHHHs from my co-workers when they look at the interior styling. I bought a bright silver exterior. The prominent "transformer shield" grill blends in nicely. Not so with darker colors, in my opinion. The tail end looks fabulous!! Definite BMW 7 series resemblances. Very powerful acceleration. Great control over rainy roads with the SH-AWD. Gas mileage isn't great, but it's not bad either. On par with a 300 hp car that's 4,000 lbs. Review By: nervous_mcstabby

2008 Acura TL Specifications end Review
About Acura TL
The Acura TL is a mid-size luxury car from Honda's Acura brand. The 2008 Acura TL features an improved new immobilizer system, a separate Tire Pressure Monitoring System warning lamp and two new body colours. The navigation system has been updated to work in Hawaii, and the AcuraLink has been expanded to incorporate 76 markets.

Acura TL was introduced in 1996 to supplant the Acura Vigor and was rebadged for the Japanese-market from 1996 to 2000 as the Honda Inspire and from 1996 to 2004 as the Honda Saber. The TL is Acura's best-selling model, and it has ranked as the second best-selling luxury sedan in the United States behind the BMW 3 Series.

Specifications Acura TL
Acura TLTL will be front-wheel drive and is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 280 hp and 254 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 22 hp and 21 lb-ft over the previous 3.2-liter V6. The new TL SH-AWD ("Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive") replaces the previous Acura TL Type-S and is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 that produces 305 hp and 275 lbs-ft of torque, an increase of 19 hp and 19 lb-ft over the 3.5-liter V6 of the Type-S. The 3.7L engine also uses VTEC variable-lift timing on both the intake and exhaust valves.

Review :
I was leaning toward the base Acura TL with Navi, but after test-driving both the base TL and the S it was all over. I drove the S first and the base Acura TL really lacked the torque off the line. This is a great commuter car, comfortable yet sporty. I have the Crystal White Pearl with the Ebony/Silver Interior. I get compliments on the exterior color with its iridescence. I have about 900 miles on it now and the trip computer is telling me that for the past 650 miles (reset this after the initial tank of gas from the dealer) my MPG are 26! My commute is mixed city/highway (Philadelphia to NW Suburbs, 27 miles one-way). Review By: Rob

Review :
I purchased my 2008 Acura TL Type S in April. 4 months later I am still very happy. Excellent acceleration and the gas mileage is surprisingly good. I've been averaging 27 mpg with city/hwy combined. Luxury and sport nicely combined. The Acura TL offers more leg room for rear passengers than the IS 250 and G35. I wish the back seats were capable of folding down for my random stops at Lowes and Home Depot. The doors are hard to keep open while exiting but I will survive. Review By: Nate H.

Review :
Acura TL is not perfect, but I love it. I like the driving/handling of the car. It feels tightly gripped to the road; pretty sturdy on turns. I've been averaging about 15-17 mpg in the city. Acura TL likes to be driven out on the open road and highway, not stopping/starting, going over speed bumps, etc. I can't wait to take it out of the city to see what it can do. Love the on-board computer. Comfortable interior, too. Gadgets/ergonometry is not too hard to figure out, per editor's knock on this item. I would take this car over its competitors, a BMW or Lexus, any day of the week. Good value. Can't help but turn around and look at it, great styling. Review By: WCM

2009 Acura TSX Specifications end Review
About Acura TSX
With the 2009 TSX, Acura has done a full remake of its entry-luxury level sedan. More than just bolting a slick new body on an old platform, the Acura TSX is new from the ground up, as in, longer, wider and lower.

The standard navigation system is the equal of anything in the class, while an optional system displays real-time traffic with congestion re-routing and local and national weather.

Specifications Acura TSX
The 2009 Acura TSX is a four-door, five-passenger sedan designed to competed with Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series sedans. It comes with one engine, a 2.4-liter inline-4, and a choice of transmissions, a six-speed manual and a five-speed SportShift sequential automatic. Although horsepower is off slightly, torque is increased by enough to make up any difference in sheer acceleration. Just as important, fuel economy is unchanged with the manual and improved with the automatic. The Acura TSX stays with a front-wheel-drive configuration, whereas true sporty sedans are rear-wheel drive.

Review:
Some ask why I just didn't buy an Accord.. it would've been cheaper. After 4000 miles now in my Acura TSX, I can tell them the Acura TSX is definitely worth the extra few grand over the Accord. The ride is better, the materials and fit and finish is a notch above that of the Accord. And the Accord is just a little bit too big for me. Looked at competing products from Lexus, Audi, BMW, etc. and the Acura TSX cannot be beaten in terms of value. Load up the others with the same options as in the Acura TSX and you can expect to pay much more. Review By: Anh Nguyen

New & improved! Quite an upgrade from my 06 Acura TSX and I thought that car was nice. This car is hot! Better lease than Accord EX. Civic Si on wish list but doesn't compare! Smooth highway ride with less wind noise. Better turning radius, great steering. Decent MPG, comfy seats like Volvo. Smooth shifting 6M. Grigio Metallic great alternative to silver/gray. Only gripe is the interior trim looks cheap as do the door handles. Acura has made a believer out of me. Loyal customer for life! Review By: Rybes

Review:
Have had car for two days. Traded in a Camry Hybrid for more than I paid for it 8 months ago w/9k miles on it and couldn't pass on the opportunity. The Camry Hybrid averaged 35 miles per gallon and was a bit uncomfortable, not fun to drive, and most of all I felt that the current hybrid hoopla will soon be looked upon like a fad as new technology is introduced. The '09 Acura TSX gets "near" what I got with the Camry Hybrid, but is more fun and the intention is to drive it to 150k+ miles like I did with my 97 TL (my 03 MDX has 80k miles on it). Have two small kids and the backseat, of course, has slightly less room than the Camry - biggest con, but expected longevity and drive make up for it. Review By: Jeff

Honda Civic Type R Engine

. Thursday, August 28, 2008

The Honda Civic is a compact car manufactured by Honda. It was introduced in July 1972 as a two-door coupe, followed by a three-door version that September. With transverse engine mounting of its 1169 cc engine and front-wheel drive like the British Mini, the car provided good interior space despite overall small dimensions.

Honda debuted a Type R concept for the European Civic at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, the Type R has a 2.0 litre 201 bhp (150 kW) at 7800 rpm. The JDM/ASIAN market 4-door Civic Type R went on sale on March 29, 2007. The Type R powered by an uprated K20A 2.0 litre iVTEC engine producing 225 PS (165 kW) at 8000 rpm (Available in Japan and Malaysia only), while the other JDM markets have 201 bhp (150 kW) at 7800 rpm and comes with a specially tuned sports suspension that includes new Brembo brakes. The prototype Type R was used as the official car of the Formula 1 2006 Japanese Grand Prix. This will mark the first time that Honda will produce two separate distinct Civic Type R models.

The Japanese and Malaysian market Honda Civic Type R (FD2) went on sale on March 30, 2007. For the first time, the JDM Civic was sold as a four door sedan rather than a three door hatchback. The new Japanese model’s engine output is higher than the European version’s, with 222bhp (225 PS) being developed at 8,400 rpm and 159 lb (72 kg) ft (215 NM) of torque peaking at 6,100rpm.

Honda NSX-R GT V-6 Engine

.

Honda NSX-R GTThe Honda NSX-R GT is a homologation special set to be produced in very small numbers, only five are schedule to be built. Production is set to begin in August of 2005.

The design and materials used on the NSX was revolutionary and introduced many industry 'firsts' for the production car market. It was the first production car to use titanium connecting rods, six in total. The body and chassis was comprised of aluminum, weighing just over 460 pounds, much less than steel but with equal strength.

The 3-liter DOHC V-6 engine was mounted mid-ship and matted to a five-speed manual gearbox. With 270 horsepower and 210 foot-pounds of torque, zero-to-sixty was accomplished in under six seconds.

For use in the Super GT, formerly the All Japan GTC and JGTC, the Honda NSX GT has been highly modified with chassis development by Dome, engine development by Mugen, for Honda.

Wild exterior colors having been offered such as the controversial love-or-hate Imola Orange Pearl with yellow interior. These colors are not only making a statement, they scream it. With limited numbers of these radical colors being chosen, it may make them more valuable in the future.

Citroen C4 Engine
