Honda Civic Type R Engine

. Thursday, August 28, 2008

The Honda Civic is a compact car manufactured by Honda. It was introduced in July 1972 as a two-door coupe, followed by a three-door version that September. With transverse engine mounting of its 1169 cc engine and front-wheel drive like the British Mini, the car provided good interior space despite overall small dimensions.

Honda debuted a Type R concept for the European Civic at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, the Type R has a 2.0 litre 201 bhp (150 kW) at 7800 rpm. The JDM/ASIAN market 4-door Civic Type R went on sale on March 29, 2007. The Type R powered by an uprated K20A 2.0 litre iVTEC engine producing 225 PS (165 kW) at 8000 rpm (Available in Japan and Malaysia only), while the other JDM markets have 201 bhp (150 kW) at 7800 rpm and comes with a specially tuned sports suspension that includes new Brembo brakes. The prototype Type R was used as the official car of the Formula 1 2006 Japanese Grand Prix. This will mark the first time that Honda will produce two separate distinct Civic Type R models.

The Japanese and Malaysian market Honda Civic Type R (FD2) went on sale on March 30, 2007. For the first time, the JDM Civic was sold as a four door sedan rather than a three door hatchback. The new Japanese model’s engine output is higher than the European version’s, with 222bhp (225 PS) being developed at 8,400 rpm and 159 lb (72 kg) ft (215 NM) of torque peaking at 6,100rpm.

I like this car so much. Because it makes me satisfied on its performance. If I will buy a car again, I will choose this again because for me there is no other car that can beat this kind of performance.
